Sonophyla is the umbrella name for all audio recordings made by Stìobhan Lothian and the odd
collaborator.
'Sono' refers to sound, while 'phyla' - taken from biology - refers to "Organisms (that) share a set of characteristics distinguishing them from organisms in another phylum." In this context, musical styles that span a range of genres, unlike the vast majority of genre-specific labels.
